A Store Deeply Rooted in the Community

In 1925 Jim Laninga arrived at his electrical contracting job to discover that the owner of the company had left town because of financial difficulties. To help the many customers left with unfinished projects, Jim had the integrity to finish the jobs the owner had left undone. In the 95+ years we have been in business, Laninga Appliance has weathered the Great Depression, product shortages during World War II, recessions and boom times with the same philosophy: Conduct business with integrity so people can "Buy at Laninga Appliance with confidence."

Steve VanderLaan (married to Jim's granddaughter) and his partners Greg and Scott Meendering pledge that even though our products will change, our commitment to old-fashioned value and quality will not.

We proudly serve the areas of Byron Center, Wyoming, Cutlerville, Grandville, Kentwood, Hudsonville, Jenison, Wayland, Caledonia and Grand Rapids in Michigan.
